The "Post-Hype" Audit: Why 2026 is the Year of AI Consolidation

Do you remember when everyone started buying air fryers, bread makers, and juicers during the lockdown? Suddenly, kitchen counters were full of gadgets that people used once and then forgot about.

The same thing happened with AI in business during 2024 and 2025.

Every department went shopping. HR bought a "recruiting bot." Marketing bought a "copywriting bot." Sales bought a "lead finding bot." The IT department didn't even know half of these tools existed.

Now, in 2026, the bill has arrived. Companies are realizing they have a messy kitchen full of expensive gadgets that don't talk to each other.

Cleaning Up the Mess

We are currently helping big UK companies run "AI Efficiency Audits." We look at all the AI tools they pay for and ask a simple question: "Is this actually making you money?"

The results are shocking. About 70% of these tools are being thrown out.

Why? Because having 15 different brains is confusing.

  • The Sales bot doesn't know what the Customer Service bot said.
  • The Marketing bot is using an old logo that the Design bot already updated.
  • Employees are tired of logging into 10 different websites just to do their job.

The New Trend: One Brain, Many Hands

In 2026, smart companies are moving to Consolidation.

Instead of buying 50 different apps, they are building one central "Cognitive Core"—think of it as a single, shared brain for the whole company.

  • This brain knows everything about the company.
  • It feeds information to the Sales team, the HR team, and the Support team.
  • Everyone is on the same page.

Cost Per Outcome

We also changed how we measure success. We used to ask, "How many people are using this tool?" Now, we ask, "How much does it cost to get a result?"

  • Old Way: Paying £30 a month for a tool that helps write emails.
  • New Way: Paying £0.50 for every verified sales lead an Agent finds.

When you measure real results, you realize that a lot of "cool" AI tools were just toys. In 2026, we are deleting the toys and keeping the tools that actually do work.
